Welcome to the newest BSG discussion community! We DO allow spoilers here, so please beware if you have not finished the series.

Ok, so I'm going to start with a possibly obvious question, but one that could lead to rather interesting discussion:

Who are the last 5 Cylon models? Why are they never spoken of?

Do you think there are any that we know? Will they all be new characters? Were they seperatists from the 'original' Cylon movement that we are now familiar with?

I think that some will be new, but not all of them. I'm sure that the writers of the show will surprise us by bringing out at LEAST one of them as an established character (Billy? (j/k)).

As to the question of why they are never spoken of, I don't think that they were seperatists in the sense that they tried to help the humans at any point in either of the wars. I mean, Caprica 6 and Boomer 8 both tried to 'help' the humans and neither were shunned like the 'lost 5'. Maybe they were religious dissenters. Maybe they staged a full-out rebellion against the other Cylons back during the first war? Maybe they just up and left, went elsewhere in a parallel to the 'lost 13th colony' of Kobol.

And there's a question, could they have ended up on Earth?

I know I got in trouble last time I said this, but I still think Zak would be a good candidate. ^^ I don't know how, and I don't know why, but I know that if I was a BSG writer, I would sure as heck try to find a way to take advantage of the Zak dynamic.

I've often thought that these cylons could be some sort of missing link in between robotic cylons and human cylons. Because we know that "they evolved", but what does that really mean? How does a machine just develop skin and hair and a tendency to fall in love with hot human guys? There's gotta be something in between. I'm not sure why they would be shunned, though. I think it's likely they're on earth, or have to do with finding earth.
